Read the Fine Print — Don’t Miss the Discounts

A week ago we visited my oldest daughter in the city where she attends university.  Of course, there student_discountwere several day trips and restaurant meals.  For one late breakfast she suggested one of the student favorites near the campus.  Big plates of waffles, omelets, and sandwiches cost about $70 for our group.  Only on the way out did I see the sign, the “fine print” on the bulletin board.  Students who show their university ID card get 10% off their bill.  If I had just read that on the way in I could have slipped some cash to the kid and had our student save us over $6.  So there’s the moral: look and ask for discounts before you pay the bill.
